The biggest challenge I faced in growing my online business was facing my inner demons. They were so quick to tell me that what I was doing would never work, that I was wasting my time, that I would never be a success.
In fact, I would hazard a guess that inner demons are the biggest enemy for all of us when we start out in building a new business whether that’s online or offline.
It’s really hard to work hard for months on end without knowing if your business idea is going to pay off, if you are going to lose the money you invested and if you are going to make a fool of yourself.
How do you stop the inner demons?
The thing that has helped me most is to have a well researched, detailed plan. A business plan is essential and it should be well thought out and researched so it has the best chance of success. Don’t waste your time and money on things that seem like a good idea without testing your theory.
You also need to invest money in your business – decent research costs money as does training to help ensure you have the skills to make your business a success.
When your demons start up their incessant chatter in your mind, remember you have this well researched plan, that you are well educated on the topic and you have every chance for success.
It also helps to remember that plenty of other people have had success building their own online business. There is no reason that you can’t too!
I find it helps to have a detailed plan of next steps which all lead into my business goals. This is the best way to ensure that I am not wasting time and that I am giving myself the best chance of success and only chasing goals that really matter to me. Try not to get caught up in side projects that do not meet your primary goal.
Most of all, trust yourself.
